Tanraj Singh Sohal is Canadian Chess Champion
WSN Bureau

11 year old Tanraj Singh from Surrey has won the 2008 Canadian Chess Championship held in Edmonton, Alberta and it is the fourth time that he has won the trophy.

Tanraj Singh's father, Dr. Paramjit Singh, himself a chess fan, introduced his son to the 64 squares at a tender age and the kid demonstrated exceptional talent in the school chess club. Young Tanraj has earlier won the 2008 Fraser Valley Regional championship in Surrey and BC Provincial Chess Championship held in Burnaby.
