Dal Khalsa, SAD (A) slam BJP for violence
WSN Bureau

Amritsar: The Dal Khalsa has asked India's Chief Election Commissioner to debar the BJP from contesting elections in view of the "communal tension being caused by the party in the country".

Addressing a press conference, Dal Khalsa leaders Satnam Singh, H.S. Dhami, Kanwar Pal Singh and Dr Manjinder Singh said the BJP was playing the communal card in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections.

They condemned the violence by VHP and Bajrang Dal activists during the recent bandh in Jammu. SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has also criticised the Punjab police for remaining a "mute spectator" while BJP and other Hindu activists were brandishing swords to force the bandh in the state.

He also demanded the suspension of Punjab Vigilance Bureau Director Sumedh Singh Saini in view of the CBI FIR registered against him.
