New York gurdwara hosts Vaisakhi
women turban tying workshop

innovative event celebrating the majestic nature of the turban is
sponsored by the
Guru Gobind
Singh Study Circle
of Richmond Hill New York. On Saturday April 15th, hosted by the
management and Sadh Sangat of Makhan Shah Labana Gurdwara, the young
Sikh men and women will assemble for this festive and colorful
Baisakhi event. In Queens, New York at 113-10 101 Ave (zip code
11419) from
12 noon
to 4 pm.
On Saturday April 12th. All girls and youth a and women are welcome.
It is only fitting that the event for
crowning of the
Khalsas with the Turban is being celebrated to mark the anniversary
of the foundation of the Khalsa. Turban fabric will be provided and
the girls can come and learn and have a turban tied on their head.
Sikh girls and
youth and women are invited to a special featured workshop of tying
a woman's turban.There are many styles and techniques that will be
featured.
