Sikhs participate in Canada Day parade

Abbotsford: Sikhs in Canada participated enthusiastically in the Canada Day celebrations with the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Society organizing a Float in the parade. Many elderly Sikhs under the banner of Indo-Canadian Senior Society in turbans were part of the parade from the Ware Street to Rotary Stadium.

Khalsa Diwan Society, Abbotsford gurdwara, which has the distinction of being part of the national heritage of Canada, had set up a special stall to welcome the Parade. Gurdara Kalgidhar Darbar Sahib Society and Fraser Valley Hindu Society members also participated. Young boys and girls affiliated with Sada Virsa Sada Gaurav forum presented Gidhha and Bhangra.
