Top Hindutva body head worships guns, abhors politics
WSN Network

Following its two pronged strategy of continually assimilating the minorities and adding an aggressive edge to the Hindutva inspired hate ideology of brahamnical powers, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in India is pressing all buttons to propel its perfidious agenda.

Mocking even the mock father of Indian nation, MK Gandhi, the RSS chief Mohan Rao Bhagwat, again reiterated that Hindustan was a Hindu Rashtra, and “Hindutva is the only solution to the world’s problems, and India needs to don the role of Vishwa Guru (world teacher).”

The RSS is strongly aligning itself with Narendra Modi line of thought within the Indian right of center politics and sent clear signals with the RSS chief not only defending Modi’s action of taking away heavy assault weapons from his NSG guards and worshipping these guns, ammunition and wireless sets but even doing a similar pooja of the guns himself.

“The nation can be strengthened only by making it Sanghmay (RSS-ised),” said Mohan Rao Bhagwat to remove any doubt as to what he meant by backing Modi. His words were a clear reflection of the well known Modi quote that India can developm further by repeating the Gujarat experiment.

Ironically, and perhaps fittingly in some ways, Bhagwat performed Shastra Poojan (weapons worship) on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, making clear not only th hollowness of RSS’ own peace agenda but also bringing out the shallowness of Gandhi’s ostensible non-violence theory.

In other dangerous remarks, Bhagwat virtually wrote off the role of politics as a means of building nation and said, “Without contesting a single election, the RSS has acquired Swaamitva (hegemony) over society. It is the only experiment in independent India that has constantly enhanced the nation’s fame and prestige.”

Bhagwat’s comments were a clear aside and an insult to the BJP and came even as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh sat among the audience. Neither Rajnath Singh nor India’s civil society have asked Bhagwat how exactly does he plan to build his country in an ideal mode by shunning politics, unless the route available to him is akin to the Narendra Modi model in Gujarat where whole communalization of politics has yielded dividends which the BJP is lapping up greedily and the RSS eyes to expand even further.

Notice the change? Here’s why

The minorities must take serious note of the fact that the RSS leaders are now fanning out and penetrating among the middle classes. Mohan Bhagwat did not choose his Jhandewalan headquarters in Delhi or the Nagpur headquarters of the RSS for performing shastar pooja. Instead, he landed in the congested lanes and bylanes of Delhi’s suburb Dwarka to make the traditional address in the Capital for shastra puja.

Dwarka is one of the fastest growing suburbs located in Delhi’s south-west.

The presence of Bhagwat was expected to give a boost to the cadres that the RSS has been seeking to expand in the suburb that’s emerging as home to white collar migrants.

His Friday address was attended by an estimated 15,000 RSS cadres clad in their traditional khaki short pants, white shirts and black caps. In the decade that the suburb has come into being, the 84-year-old Hindu nationalist organization has set up 200 shakhas (daily assemblies) in Dwarka.

A report in Delhi’s respected economic daily Mint explained how the suburb also represents the new and more flexible face of the RSS. Keeping in mind the fact that potential cadres will come from professional ranks, the RSS has ensured timings and the regimen are flexible. While conventionally, the shakhas have operated in the morning and entailed exercise drills—as part of the efforts to create a disciplined cadre—the RSS has now included night shakhas in areas such as Dwarka to accommodate working professionals.

Exhorting the assembled cadres in Dwarka to make the nation Sanghmayi (drenched in RSS following), Bhagwat said: “While our nation has the reputation, it has utterly failed to secure supremacy in the world arena. Our values of truth and non-violence cannot be asserted until we wield and worship power, something which the RSS preaches and practices.”

Clearly, the rebuilding efforts are designed to reposition the RSS as an acceptable ideological faith to a rapidly evolving demography, moving away from the traditional perception of being dominated by the upper castes.
