Pilots, crew settle squabble mid
air
WSN Network
NEW DELHI: Two
people in the cockpit -- a pilot and a co-pilot -- and two crew
members of a Delhi-bound Air India flight from Sharjah via Lucknow
decided that they should settle their quarrel several hundred feet
above the ground. So, the pilots put the plane on auto mode and a
scuffle ensued that left one of them injured and 106 lives of
passengers hanging in the air.
Once on the
ground, the air hostess lodged a complaint to the police accusing
the two pilots of assaulting and misbehaving with her mid-air on
Saturday morning. A shocked Air India ran for cover, inquiries were
on way and regular fliers wondered what else can happen mid air next
time they fly.
Joint
Commissioner of Police (Operations) Satyendra Garg is leading the
probe while the hostess later also went to National Commission for
Women, the TV channels beaming her pictures with tears rolling down
her eyes. The pilots and the crew versions do not match but one
thing is for sure: Neither side could wait to settle the issue till
they were on the ground.
Flight IC-884
was over Pakistan when the pilots allegedly entered into an argument
with the air hostess and misbehaved with her. The victim sustained
minor bruises on her hand when one of the pilots allegedly pushed
her.
