Fremont gurdwara's children jatha bags 2 Golds

Francisco: In an international kirtan competition wherein Gurbani
hymns were sung set to designated ragas, the Kirtani jatha of
children from Gurdwara Sahib, Fremont bagged two gold medals, thus
bringing more glory after they had won two gold ones earlier in the
west zone competition.
The Kirtan competition was organised by
Hemkunt Foundation in Los Angeles.
From among the university, college and
school students, the jatha comprising Amrit kaur Khalsa, Raagni
Kaur, Biney Kaur, Raginder Singh and Puneet Kaur Khalsa won a gold
medal while Nayan Kaur, Anmol Kaur, Jaskeerat Singh, Harpreet Kaur
and GurMehar Singh's jatha also bagged gold.
Jaskeerat Singh, Bibi Puneet Kaur Khalsa
and Raginder Singh were especially honored with trophies for tabla
and rabab, respectively.
The Hemkunt Foundation also honored
music teachers Prof Ranjit Singh of Los Angeles, and Gurdwara Sahib,
Fremont's kirtan teachers Prof Dalbir Singh and Bibi Parminder Kaur.
