Southern California Sangat Joins
for Seva
WSN Network
ANAHEIM, CA:
The Sikh community of Los Angeles donated over 15,000 blankets along
with food and toys to the Fred Jordan Mission located downtown. This
was the eighth consecutive year that Sikhs from nearby areas
collaborated in doing seva.
The seva
opportunity every year is organized by the Nanak Parchar Sabha and
the Ujjal Didar Singh Foundation, along with various Gurdwara Sahibs
located throughout
Los Angeles.
Sikh sangat showed great enthusiasm in helping collect blankets and
food for the needy. Every year, the Sikh community from various
Gurdwaras donates generously towards the praiseworthy cause.
One of the
participants in the seva said that many homeless people have to face
dire conditions in the winter months because of the cold weather.
This year especially has been very critical in aspects of the
weather conditions so the attempts by the Sikh Community to help the
needy were greatly appreciated by the Fred Jordan Mission.
