Sikh Golf Society helps homeless
charity in Slough
WSN Network
LONDON: The
recently formed Sikh Golf Society of Great Britain prepared and
served hand made meals for the homeless community in Slough during
the Christmas break.
The Slough
Homeless Our Concern (SHOC) is a local charity which caters for the
homeless community in
Slough and
allowed the Sikh Golf Society to take over for the day. Over 50
meals were served at lunchtime by the golfers and their partners.
The Sikh golf
society is a group of golfers who initially raised funds for the
Khalsa
Primary School in Slough and recently has supported an eye camp
project.
“We are
delighted to be of service to the homeless community in
Slough and hope
that we can continue to support them in the future. Our society
raises funds to be spent on worthwhile projects both for the local
and international community. We have over 200 golfers who join us at
our events throughout the year.
"We would also
like to mention our main sponsors The Royal Bank of
Scotland
who have supported us in our events” said Jas Hothi Chairman of the
Sikh Golf Society.
