Jassi Khangura calls for more NRI involvement
WSN Network

MISSION HILLS, CA: Visiting Congress MLA from Qila Raipur, Jassi Khangura, addressed Southern California’s non-resident Indians at a banquet hosted by Gary Grewal and asked them to take notice of the Punjab Government’s wasteful spending and false promises. Khaira, a hotelier and industrialist, talked of his macro dairy ventures that he claimed helped reduce rural unemployment, infanticide and foeticide, and pleaded with the NRIs to involve themselves at all levels of Punjab’s development. Khaira’s exposition seemed to have impressed many of his audience.

The program was also organized by some of the community leaders including Gary Grewal, Rattan Singh Joea, Jagdish Khangura and Mani Sidhu in Northridge, California. Among those present were Paul Sahota, Congress leader and businessman from Fresno, Atma Singh Grewal who hails from Qila Raipur village, Ranjit Grewal and Mukhtiar Kamboj, Chairman Sikh Gurdwara of Los Angeles .Dr. Amarjit Singh Marwah, Harry Sidhu, Gunwant S. Grewal, Lahori Ram, Bhupinder Sidhu and many others appreciated Khangura’s vision. Gunwant S. Grewal, the ex-MP from Vancouver, BC, lauded Khangura’s politics and future plans while Parladh Singh Grewal underlined the NRIs’ problems.

Khangura exhorted the NRIs not to wait anymore for the state government to resolve the NRI-related issues and said this is not a short-term domain area and the Badal government has failed to honour its commitments to NRIs made at the Government samellan in Jalandhar last January.
