celebrated with enthusiasm at the Stockton gurdwara in this land of
the Gadris on May 3. The original day of declaration was April 29,
1986. Bhai Bachitar Singh ji, the well known kathakaar spoke on this
occasion while Bhai Parwinder Singh Paaj performed kirtan.

struggle. His narrative weaved it in the matrix of larger historical
movements.

Sikh thinker scholar Bhai Prabhsharandeep Singh talked about the
sovereign nature of the Sikh quom and underlined how a community
which had its own kingdom till 1949 today finds its voice muffled.

Sikhs than the Jews but they did not carry the kind of weight that
was the community's due. He traced the history of the loss of Sikh
kingdom, the dirty tactics adopted by the Raj, the policy of fanning
divisive tendencies, the treatment meted out to Rani Jindan etc.

scholar minced no words in making it clear that the contemporary
Sikh leadership was useless bunch of people with most having a
quotable price, and said the only solution was an Azad Hasti, the
Sikhs' own homeland.

independent existence, there was no need to go to anyone, or become
a victim of the media propaganda. he said our kids are shunning the
