Prince of Patiala moves closer to becoming Darling of India
Gagandeep Kaur

Now it is a fight to the finish. Voting lines are getting jammed and supporters from Punjab are going agog to vote for Rohanpreet Singh. He surged ahead to become one of the top contenders into the last four. In the last week's programme, he clinched the show with a startling performance.

His bespectacled mother keeps saying her prayers while the kid sings Hindi cinema songs. It is an interesting sight to see mothers of all children, leaving their home and hearth and accompanying their children, egging them on to deliver their best.

Is the programme a real reality show? Well, in this day when all kinds of soap sells and sells well, even if it is half of what the scriptwriters claim, it is good enough. It has provided a platform to some talent and sponsored interest amongst others.

The spirit of competition is building amongst kids too, but such competition can take its toll too. One parent suffered a stroke when his ward did not fare well. This is certainly taking it a bit too far.
