Punjabi Heritage Society announces
youth bhangra contest

The Punjabi Heritage Society seeks teams to participate in its first
annual Youth Bhangra Competition on January 11, 2009. The
competition will be held at 2pm at the Amador Theatre in
Pleasanton. First place prize money goes to the top teams in their
divisions.
The Punjabi
Heritage Society has successfully hosted several Punjabi events over
the past years, including its annual Visakhi show. Local
participants performed in singing, dancing and comedy items at the
last PHS show, which was hosted in front of a sold out crowd.
The competition
is open to teams of all ages, from elementary to high school. Teams
interested in competing in the competition should contact the
Punjabi Heritage Society at harinder66@hotmail.com for entry
information. The competition is limited to the first twelve teams
submitted.
