Bidar witnesses shobha yatra
WSN Network

BIDAR: A Shobha Yatra was taken out here on Monday by members of the Guru Nanak Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. The procession carrying the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Nishan Sahib passed through the main thoroughfares of the city.

The yatra was taken out after the curtains came down on the Gur-ta-Gaddi celebrations. As part of the celebrations in Bidar, a two-day Akhand Path was organised by the members of the prabandhak committee.

Fifty-one members were involved in the recitation, which concluded on Sunday

A vehicle decorated with flowers was part of the procession.

The yatra started from the gurudwara premises and passed through Madiwala Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk and Janawada Road before leaving for Nanded. Prabandhak committee president Balbir Singh said the procession had come from Chandigarh under the leadership of Baba Prithpal Singh.

Member of the prabandhak committee Manpreet Singh, gurudwara manager Darbara Singh, and members of the Sikh community participated in the procession.

Meanwhile, heavy rush of pilgrims to the gurdwara continues. Pilgrims thronged it for darshan of the jhira, the site of a natural spring on its premises.
