Sikhs slam FIR against Reliance, Joke is on Ambani now
WSN Network

LUCKNOW: Top Indian honcho and chairman of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Anil Ambani, has been accused of facilitating circulation of derogatory jokes against the Sikh community through the group's mobile Internet services.

The Lucknow Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee lodged the FIR after an emergency meeting on Monday, with its president Rajendra Singh Bagga saying the "jokes are insulting as some Sikhs have been abused. They offend the feelings of the entire Sikh community".

The Committee, as per reports in the media in India, said it had become difficult to tolerate the insults being heaped on the Sikhs, and the Reliance Group was asked to submit a written apology or face India-wide protests including a possible call for boycott of the group's products and services.

Reliance Infocomm has confirmed that it was aware of the FIR.
