Kalgi row still
on as panel meet inconclusive
WSN Network
AMRITSAR:
The issue of authenticity of the kalgi continues to baffle the SGPC
as yet another meeting of the SGPC appointed sub-committee for the
task remained inconclusive on Monday.
Two researchers,
Kamaljit Singh Boparai and IPS officer Harpreet Singh Sidhu, who had
brought the kalgi from England, appeared before the panel in
Chandigarh and claimed the relic was authentic, but refused to
reveal the source they had acquired it from. Panel member and SGPC
secretary Dilmegh Singh said it was decided to carry on further
research into the purported relic. The SGPC chief said the kalgi
would not be put on display till its authenticity was established.
