AMBALA: In the
ongoing trial against the rape and murder accused Sirsa dera head
Gurmit Ram Rahim, the CBI examined witness Paramjit in the sadhvi
sexual exploitation case on Saturday.
The trial is
being held via videoconferencing. His crossexamination in the Ranjit
murder case was not taken up and the case has been adjourned to
August 28. They said the further cross examination was deferred as
the defence had moved an application seeking insurance policy
details of deceased Ranjit Singh.
CBI Counsel
H.P.S. Verma informed that the bail application of accused Jasbir
Singh has been posted for August 8.
He said
Paramjit, the brother-in-law of deceased Ranjit, reiterated in the
sadhvi exploitation case what was recorded in his earlier statement
under Section 164 of CrPC. He asserted that Ranjit had given him
details of the goings on at the dera headquarters.
The Ram Chander
Chatterpati murder case would come up in the next hearing on August
8, sources said. The slain journalist's son Anshul is likely to
depose.
