Punjab to host World Kabaddi
League
WSN Network
GURDASPUR:
The Punjab government will organise World Kabaddi League matches in
February 2010, offering Rs 1-crore first prize and Rs 50 lakh and Rs
25 lakh for the second and third runners-up.
CM Prakash Singh
Badal announced this at a fair held in memory of Baba Bhurewal at
Jaura Chhatran village, 14 km from here, on Sunday. Punjab CM often
attends such occasions with aplomb.
Badal said
top kabaddi teams from various countries had been invited to
participate in the kabaddi league matches. He expressed the concern
that the electronic media highlighted only cricket and tennis, and
ignored traditional sports like kabaddi, wrestling, hockey and
football.
