Make
Hinduism more aggressive
WSN Network
NAGPUR: As if the attitude
of the eternally maverick Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the
last few years has left anything to the imagination, its chief K.S.
Sudarshan has now told the Shiv Sena-BJP saffron alliance in
Maharashtra to make Hinduism in the country “more aggressive”.
The advice came during a meeting that Shiv Sena working president
Uddhav Thackeray and BJP Maharashtra unit president Nitin Gadkari
had with him at the RSS headquarters here on Sunday morning.
The meeting itself, and the RSS chief’s remarks, assume significance
in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and
the fact that the Shiv Sena has expressed its desire to have a
tie-up with the BJP for the polls there along the lines of the
alliance in Maharashtra.
According to Thackeray, the RSS chief felt that Hinduism needed to
be more aggressive because of the threat it was facing in the
country. The scheme to construct a canal that would destroy the “Ram
Sethu (Adam’s Bridge)” between India and Sri Lanka, and the
inclusion of a “cross” in the design of the new two-rupee coin that
have been put into circulation, were part of the plot against
Hinduism, the sarsanghachalak said, according to Thackeray.
