Banur man missing in Australia

MELBOURNE/BANUR:
A 33-year-old man from Khanpur village in Banur is missing under
mysterious circumstances in western Australia. Pardeep Kumar was
working in Mildura, a city in the
Victoria
province, some 550 km from Melbourne.
Pradeep's family
members on Monday said his car was found abandoned near the Mildura
railway station. His wallet, 9,000 Australian dollars and the car
keys were lying in the car. They fear a business rivalry may be the
reason behind his disappearance.
Pardeep had
immigrated to Australia last September and was working as a harvest
manager in Mildura, in the northwest of Australia.
Pardeep's
brother Parveen Kumar, a head constable with Punjab Police, said
that they had lodged a complaint about his missing brother with the
Australian police.
He said they got
to know of Pardeep's disappearance through an email sent to them on
Friday by an Indian woman in Mildura who knew Pardeep and his family
members. "But till date, we have not received no information about
Pardeep's whereabouts," said Parveen.
He said the
local police in Australia had begun questioning the youth who were
working with Pardeep and had even confiscated their passports.
"We've also come
to know that Pardeep had bought a ticket to next station from
Mildura before he disappeared," he said.
