Diaspora Left reminisces about
Harkrishen Singh Surjeet

CALIFORNIA:
At an
impressive meeting at the famous Punjabi restaurant Sitara,
prominent personalities of the Walehoe region gathered to pay honest
tributes to one of India’s honest politician’s and CPM leaders
Harkishan Singh Surjit. The programme was organized by leading
businessmen and CPM leaders Avtar Singh Sandhu, Bhinder Singh Sandhu,
Balyog Singh Sandhu and Surjit Singh Rattu.
These leaders
elaborated upon the honesty of the departed leader and said that it
was his honesty and hard work that made him king maker on the Indian
political arena. Prominent left leader Bhinder Singh Sandhu who is
also called as father of the Kabbaddi Movement in America, extolled
the qualities of the veteran communist leader.
He further said
that Mr Surjit’s contribution was unparalleled. The proprietor of
Nau Nihaal Currency International and the Sandhu brothers of Bay
area including Surjit Singh Sandhu Baljeet Singh Sandhu and
Charanjeet Singh Sandhu also praised the leader and said that the
people of India had suffered a big loss and that the vacuum created
with his departure will not be easily filled. They also said that
the poor people of India had lost a true friend. Dr Gurpreet Singh
Dhugga, Dilbagh Singh Sandhu, Mulkraj, Joginder Singh Basra, Hoshiar
Singh Dadhwal, Kewal Singh, Ajit Singh Sandhu and other leaders
spoke on the occasion.
