Jagmohan Singh
In recognition
of the visionary thoughts and dedication to serve humanity expressed
by World Sikh News, in consonance with its title theme, “because
the truth needs to be told”, the editor-in-chief of the
World Sikh News, Jagmohan Singh, will be one of the guest speakers
on the occasion of commemorating 25th Anniversary of “Saka Akal
Takhat” organised by the Canada-based World Sikh Organisation.
In an effort to
reach out to as many Canadians as possible to acquaint them with
achievements and challenges over the past quarter of a century and
explore opportunities that lie ahead to make the world a better
place to live, Jagmohan Singh, Chandigarh-based author Ajmer Singh
and USA based anthropologist Dr. Cynthia K. Mahmood will make
presentations and observations on “past in perspective...
future in focus” on June 4 at the Annual Parliamentary
Dinner in the West Block of the House of Commons in Ottawa.
The World Sikh
Oranisation, founded in 1984 with a mandate to promote and protect
the interests of the Sikh Diaspora, as well as to promote and
advocate for the protection of human rights for all individuals,
irrespective of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, social and
economic status has provided a credible voice to the Sikh community
at the Canada national level and at the international level,
particularly in pursuit of human rights.
WSN editor,
Jagmohan Singh will stress upon the journey of human rights
violations over the last three decades. He along with other speakers
will also participate in community meetings and meet members of
parliament in Brampton, Missisauga, Surrey, Edmonton and Calgary.
