Amarinder shoots arrow, it finds a plane indeed
Majithia's multi-crore business comes to fore
WSN Network

Chandigarh: It takes a rival to bring out the ill-gotten money as well as the business interest of  politicians in Punjab. On his own, the Majithias or Sukhbir would never have told it in as many words, but when former CM Amarinder Singh claimed that Badals had recently purchased an aeroplane VT PSB fro Rs 24 crore with ill-gotten money, out came the truth. Or something like it.

Majithias were quick to concede that yes, they have indeed bought the plane. Also, that they have actually four planes now, and they all have been bought in the name of Bikram's father Satyajit Singh Majithia and brother Gurmehar Singh's company name.

Amarinder had also claimed that Badal had purchased a huge chunk of land at Port Blair and Mauritius while another land deal in Dubai was in the pipeline.

The plane was bought by Orbit Aviation Private Limited, promoted by Bikram's father and brother, and an off-shoot of Saraya Aviation Company.

He said it was purchased by taking a loan of Rs 19.25 crore from Punjab National Bank, New Delhi. Orbit Resorts has also subscribed share application in it.

These are companies with certification for engaging in non-scheduled air transport service, he said.

Punjab media thought little about questioning the Badals about why such business interests remain hidden when daily statements over developing the aviation sector are issued by the Akali top brass and fights are launched to upgrade Raja Sansi and other airports.
