Want seats? Contst on saffron symbol, BJP tells Akalis
WSN Network

NEW DELHI: The Akali Dal and the BJP have failed to reach a decision on the Delhi polls seat sharing arrangements amd the BJP is not ready to forgo any seats but is ready accomodate some Akali candidates provided they contest on the symbol of "Lotus" and not on "Scales". "Lotus" is BJP's symbol and the Akalis are earlier known to have entered into such arrangements. Four Akali candidates had contested last Delhi assembly elections with lotus as their symbol but none won.

The WSN sources found that the Akali Dal was asking for five seats the BJP has refused to leave so many seats to Akali quota. Another meeting was being planned. The SAD is also asking for some seats in Rajasthan in the Hanumangarh-Ganganagar belt.
