Top cop probing Amarinder shunted
Son was found robbing for diamonds

CHANDIGARH:
Finally, the Punjab government was forced to remove one of the top
Punjab Vigilance officials, SSP Shiv Kumar Sharma, after his son
Mohit was caught in a diamond merchant robbery case and diamonds
worth crores were recovered from his house.
Shiv Kumar
Sharma, who has since proceeded on long leave, had been in the dock
following the arrest of his son Mohit. Shiv Kumar Sharma had been
investigating some important and sensitive cases, including
corruption cases against former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
Jalandhar police
had raided the official residence of Shiv Kumar Sharma in Patiala.
Mandeep Singh, the gunman of Shiv Kumar Sharma, who was also
involved in the diamond robbery, is absconding. He is related to
Sharma and was with Mohit Sharma most of the time. They planned the
robbery together.
