Sikhs For Justice gives clarion call for march on the Capitol Hill
WSN Bureau

CARTERET: In the run up to the march on the Capitol Hill and a conference demanding the nomenclature of Genocide for the killings of the Sikhs in India in 1984, the coordinators for Sikhs For Justice held a meeting with Sikh organisations and managements of the gurughars of the tristate at the Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Carteret.

The meeting discussed the preparations for the November 1, 2009 conference and march. Among active participants were Sikh Cultural Society Richmond's Gurdev Singh Kang, Buta Singh Cheema, Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Sikh Centre's Kulbir Singh, Gurmej Singh, Sanjha Punjab TV's Balwinder Singh Bajwa, Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Carteret's Kewal Singh and Dasmesh Darbar's Gurdavar Singh, Joginder Singh, Avtar Singh Bassi, Jaswinder Singh Bhullar, Harwinder Singh and Dilip Singh. They all assured of full support and participation and hailed the Sikhs For Justice forum for its efforts so far.

Toronto's Punjabi Daily's editor Sukhminder Singh Hansra, Aj Di Awaz radio's Sukhdev Singh Gill and Toronto's Palwinder Singh, who had specially come for the meeting, assured that they will help disseminate the message all over, including Canada.

Sikh Youth of America's president Gurinder Singh Maana, Dr. Ranjit Singh and Kulwant Singh, also assured that the mission will get their support. Dr. Amarjit Singh, the well known Sikh scholar from Washington DC, said he will do all to raise the issue of genocide of the Sikhs at the international level.

Among others who participated and assured support were Akali Dal's representative Mohan Singh Khatra, Gurdwara Burlington Khalsa Darbar's Jagdish Singh, Sukhdarshan Singh, Hardeep Singh, Philadelphia Sikh Society's Dharam Singh, Kashmir Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Staten Island Sikh Society's Sukhdev Singh.

Speaking to reporters, Dr bakhshish Singh Sandhu, Barjinder Singh Brar, Master Mohinder Singh and Avtar Singh Pannu said the Sikhs For Justice has vowed to get justice for the Sikh community but until and unless the entire Sikh Nation comes together to commemorate November 1, 2009 as Sikh Genocide Day and extends all help, it will be impossible to get the law to move against the culprits.
