JALANDHAR:
Victims of 1984 Sikh genocidal attack in Delhi
and elsewhere that saw thousands of Sikhs being burnt alive on the
roads of the national capital will bring to a halt the entire
railway traffic on the Delhi-Ludhiana-Jalandhar-Amritsar section on
November 6 with a Rail Roko siege to the tracks to protest against
denial of justice to the victims.
Danga Peerat
Welfare Society, a conglomeration of the victims of 1984 massacres,
announced the plans for a Rail Roko and said a massive commemoration
function is also scheduled for November 14 in Dugri, Ludhiana where
Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, SGPC president Avtar
Singh Makkar and other Akali Dal leaders of various hues will
converge to underline the community's continuing fight for justice.
Society
president Surjit Singh, who is often seen as being allied with the
Badal group, said the Rail Roko may inconvenience some people but it
was important that the rest of India and the wider world comes to
know of the deep anguish of the Sikh community with the way the
justice delivery mechanism has completely left out the Sikhs.
