Catch Rise of The Khalsa DVDs at Yuba Nagar Kirtan on Oct 31, Nov 1
The much awarded and talked about documentary, 'Rise of the Khalsa', will be released at Yuba City Nagar Kirtan. This film has won the best international director of a documentary award at the New York International Film Festival.
This film is a brief journey through the Khalsa traditions and the transition to the modern times. To capture some of the footage for this documentary, the entire crew underwent daring and dangerous moments to bring never seen before moments to screen.
The fact that the film is being appreciated by vast sections of non-Sikhs is making news. The film was also screened at major gurudwaras in California, Chicago, New York, Toronto and many cities in UK.
This DVD also has English and Punjabi langauage option and Spanish subtitles option. The latter was aimed at catering to the demand in Spanish speaking countries like Chile and Argentina.
Film director Jagmeet Samundri said whatever money is being raised by the sale of DVDs will be put in the production of the next mega project on Khalsa titled 'Martyrs' which is under production.
The DVD will be made available for the sangat on Nov 8, Sunday at Stockton gurdwara. A short film on the making of the film 'Martyrs' will also be shown. (Editor's note: Readers may note that the film talked about here has nothing to do with an animated film bu by the similar name, The Rise of Khalsa.)
