"Agony Uncle" Harpreet Singh on beck and call
WSN Network

QUEENS: Are you fighting with your spouse? Are you facing problems with admission for your kid on racial grounds? Are you unaware of the services offered by the city? Are you facing questions of immigration? Are you facing problems of translation for lack of knowledge of the English language?  No problem for the residents of Queens.  Harpreet Singh Toor of the Sikh Cultural Society is on hand.  Call him and he arrives to intervene and reach a solution.

Harpreet Singh Toor has been assisting fellow Sikhs for the last decade in the Richmond Hill area where close to 20,000 Sikhs live.  He has been on beck and call, particularly after 9/11 when a large number of Sikhs were subjected to racial abuse, intimidation and harassment as a result of mistaken identity.

Harpreet Singh used the local media to create awareness about the Sikhs and their religion apart from engaging in numerous meetings with police and other authorities.
