Basketball Coach Prof. Darshan Singh Sandhu honoured at Gurdwara Fremont
WSN Bureau

FREMONT: Basketball Coach Prof. Darshan Singh Sanhu who is currently visiting the United States was honoured with a Siropa at Gurdwara Fremont for his services in furthering sports in Punjab. Prof. Sandhu has retired as Principal from the Sports College at Kotkapura and has nurtured many a player of international repute.

In his speech at the Gurdwara Sahib, he emphasized the importance of sports in life and said that Punjab needs to revive a live sports culture to negate and counter the effects of an ever-increasing drug culture in Punjab.

He was immensely impressed that his students including Gurtej Singh and others had started to sport unshorn hair and were pensive about the status of Sikhi in Punjab.
