UK Proposes bar on non-English speaking
immigrants
London: The UK’s Commission on
Integration and Cohesion has reportedly proposed to the British
government to make it compulsory for the foreign-born Britons to
speak English, else they should be barred from entering the country.
The proposal is aimed at slashing the
translation services. The proposals are almost certain to be adopted
by ministers in a drive to improve racial harmony, the Daily Mail
reported. Councils, the NHS and the courts spend more than ฃ100
million a year on interpreters and translating documents into
foreign languages.
