20 get life term
for killing Sikh family

Alwar (Rajasthan): Twenty people were on Friday sentenced to life
imprisonment by a local court for killing three members of a Sikh
family in Musakheda village two years back over a land dispute.
The fast track court
of additional district judge Arun Kumar Gupta, had on September 19,
found the 20 guilty while acquitting nine persons in the case as no
evidence was found against them.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of the convicts.
A charge sheet was
filed against 35 people in the case, of whom six were referred to a
juvenile court as they were minors.
Three members of a
Sikh family — Preetam Singh, Darshan Singh and Birju Singh — were
killed by members of the Mev community at Musakheda on November, 24,
2005.
