Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib's martyrdom day
observed in Walnut

WALNUT: On November 24th, 2008, Sri Guru Singh Sabha Walnut commemorated the Shaheedi Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and also remembered the martyrs Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji. The event that began at 6:00 PM lasted till 9:30 PM.

Melodious kirtan was performed by the famous raagi jathas of Bhai Ravinder Singh of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Bhai Arjan Singh of Ludhiana, Bhai Jaswant Singh Riverside and Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Raghbir Singh of Walnut. Katha on the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji was rendered by famous katha vachak Giani Avinashi Singh Ji. Hanwant Bir Singh Sawhney recited poems on Bhai Mati Das Ji's sacrifice.

Guru Ka Langar and Sri Akhand Path sewa was done by Sangat of Gurudwara Walnut. The decision of celebrating the Gurpurabs on the same day was appreciated by the sangat.
