San Jose gurdwara
dispute set to land in court
WSN Network
SAN JOSE: After
the long drawn squabbles within the San Jose management, it now
seems that the functioning style of the Bob Dhillon group will
eventually lead to a stage where the dispute over fund management
will finally have to be settled in a court of law.
Two weeks
earlier, Bhai Jaswant Singh Hothhi faction’s counsel had asked for
all records from the committee through a written missive and had
given the panel one week to present these. So far, said sources, no
records have been made available.
For the last one
year, the sangat has been asking for records pertaining to Phase I
of the construction in order to do an audit but the Bob Dhillon
group has remained obdurate on the question of having an audit.
The incumbent
management is also facing the fire for having given voting rights to
non-Sikhs and the larger Sikh community has refused to gulp this
development. Bhai Jaswant Singh Hothhi’s faction members have said
they have a twin reason for approaching the courts for a final
solution: First, to obtain for the sangat the entire accounts for
auditing, and secondly, to get cancelled the votes of the non-Sikhs.
