Mysore dera is also full of frauds
WSN Network
Mysore: Sirsa's
dera sadh is trouble personified. Rapes, killings, financial
bunglings are the stuff of everyday life for him. His visit to
Mysore
has brought out new skeletons tumbling from the cupboards. He is
comign with a dera in Mysore. The land, where this new ashram is
still being constructed, near Siddalingapura off Mysore-Bangalore
Expressway, is classified as agricultural and can be purchased only
by a farmer as per Karnataka Land Revenue Act 1964. It can be used
for nonagricultural purposes after it has been 'alienated'.
Sukhdev Singh
from Haryana, who bought it from Eranna of Mysore, does not have
documents to prove he is a farmer, though he claimed he was one
during a meeting with the magistrate. He has not applied for
alienation either. A report by Mysore tehsildar and taluk magistrate
D B Natesh is pending before the district administration, which is
empowered to either take over the property or demolish it, if
convinced that rules have been breached.
On Tuesday, the
magistrate, during a site inspection on Tuesday, noticed another
violation, when a villager pointed out that the sect's followers
were drawing water from Varuna canal. He immediately seized the
motor. Revenue officials had been told by Dera representatives that
they were setting up a de-addiction camp and not that it would be
used for religious purposes, Natesh said. The tehsildar found about
the violation during verification of land records received from the
sub-registrar office and ordered demolition of an under-construction
structure. The official had asked Dera representatives to get him
documents, but they had not responded.
