Gurdwara Fremont marks Martyrdom
Day with Akhand Paths

FREMONT: Marking
the Martyrdom Day of the fifth Sikh Master, Guru Arjan Dev ji, and
the 25th anniversary of the martyrs of Indian Army's attack on the
Sikh religion's centre in Amritsar, bhog of ten Sri Akhand Path
Sahib, 52 Sukhmani Sahibs and five Japuji Sahibs were performed on
Sunday at the hall raised in the memory of Sant Jarnail Singh
Bhindranwale.
Some 538 Sikhs
participated in the sewa of Path by registering themselves on the
rolls. It was the first such organizing feat where volunteers in
such huge numbers did Path Sewa and for three days the sewadars of
the Gurughar and the sangat in their hundreds participated.
The atmosphere
of religiousity and spirituality was inspiring for the younger
generations. The Akhand Path Sahib were begun and concluded in the
presence of Sant Baba Hari Singh Randhawe Wale.
Langar was also
organized on all the three days where more than 100 tireless workers
did sewa. Some 20 odd youth were busy tending to the parking lest
any visitor is put to any inconvenience. Many restaurant owners and
their families participated in the langar sewa. Among these were
Mehfil Restaurant's Satnam Singh Bal, Italian Restaurant's Bhupinder
Singh, well known chef Deepak Bharadwaj, Tejpal Singh, Baba Bikkar
Singh, Baba Harbant Singh, Baba Shinda Singh, Senior Supreme Council
member Nirmal Singh Batth and many other sewadars.
Gurdwara
Fremont's president Harjot Singh Khalsa said the bhog of the Akhand
Paths were in memory of the martyrs and thanked the sangat for its
particpatory spirit.
