DSGMC warns SGPC on Sikh definition

NEW DELHI:
Challenging the SGPC to withdraw the Sikh definition affidavit from
the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara
Management Committee urged the judiciary to stay away from being
part of the unnecessary controversy and has set up a ten member
Panthic Advisory Board to guide the affairs of the Sikhs in the
relgio-political domain. The meeting also requested all Panthic
institutions including Gurdwara committees to pass resolutions
against the move of the SGPC.
Meeting on the
occasion of the martyrdom diwan of Sahibzadas at Gurdwara Rakabganj,
former Jathedar Giani Joginder Singh, former Badal Dal minister,
Manjit Singh Calcutta and other Panthic leaders severely criticized
the wrong and misleading affidavit of the SGPC and dubbed it as "a
clear attempt to appease the RSS lobby working actively within the
Badal Dal".
The Panthak
Advisory Board constituted at the meeting includes Prof. Darshan
Singh, Joginder Singh Vedanti, Jasbir Singh Rode, Jasjit Singh from
UK, Hazur Singh from Hyderabad, Harvinder Singh Sarna from Delhi,
Manjit Singh Calcutta, former secretary, Shiromani Gurdwara
Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Mahant Manjit Singh Jammu, Malkit Singh
Nagpur (member, SGPC) and Tarsem Singh

Sarna warned that the SGPC has been consistent in ignoring the
interests of the Sikhs and it was high time that all Panthic
organizations and individuals took up the cudgels to ensure that
such excursions of the SGPC are nipped in the bud.
Former MP Amrik
Singh Aliwal, former MLA Talib Singh Sandhu, Ashok Singh Baghrian,
Harcharan Singh (US), Baldev Singh Sirsa (Panch Pardhani), Jaswant
Singh Mann (All India Shiromani Akali Dal) and Gurdip Singh (Shiromani
Akali Dal 1920) also attended the meet.
