Guru Nanak's gurpurab observed
at Kartarpur
KARTARPUR SAHIB:
The Gurpurab of the founder of Sikhism Sri Guru Nanak Dev was
observed at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib here in the presence of Sikh
Sangat and local Muslims.
The sangat
converged at the Gurdwara on all three days beginning September 20.
After the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on September 22, the kirtani
jatha of Sindhi Sikhs and the kirtani jathas from Punjab rendered
the hymns.
The American
Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee’s coordinator Dr. Prithpal Singh
thanked the Wakf Board chairman Syed Asif Hashmi and other local
Pakistan officials for all the arrangements for the Gurpurab.
Jathedar Kuldip
Singh Wadala and the Pakistani government had underlined that both
New Delhi and Islamabad could seriously move forward on the question
of special corridor connecting Sri Kartarpur Sahib with Dera Baba
Nanak.
Bhai Amrik Singh
and Balvinder Singh Chabal of Khalra Mission Committee also thanked
the Pakistan government for administrative arrangements.
Dr Swaran Singh,
Sardar Shyam Singh and Sardar Bhishen Singh represented the
Pakistani Sikhs.
