Takht Jathedar launches Oz Sikh
Grammar school

SYDNEY: Anew
community based non-profit co-educational grammar school project was
launched in Sydney by Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh who
was here on his maiden visit. The jathedar congratulated the Sikhs
of Sydney for this community project which will have classes f r o m
Kindergarten to year twelve. The school also has plans to build upon
the experience and advice of senior citizens and they shall be
acting as mentors to groups of children. A residential wing is also
planned for non-Sydney residents. The school will also teach Sikh &
Human Values, Spirituality andour Heritage.
In a separate
ceremony the Sewadaars (volunteers) of this project were
administered the oath of service by the Panj Pyaras to serve the
community without expecting any personal gain and following the
glorious path shown by the Sikh Gurus. Among those who offered their
services to Sikh Grammar school, were Jaspal Singh, Balwinder Singh
Chahal, Gurmej Singh, Tarlok Singh, Amarjit Singh Girn, Manjit Singh
P u r e w a l , Lakhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Harbans Singh Dari,
Parminder Singh Bedi, Manjit Singh Lalia, Amarjit Singh Rainu, Dr
Surinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Chadha, Randeep Singh Grewal,
Bhupinder Singh, Rajwant Singh and Sham Singh.
