Gaiety and Piety mark the eleventh Nagar Kirtan
Balwinder Singh Khalsa 

STOCKTON: In the sweet memory of the Khalsa, upholding the distinct identity of the Sikh people, the Sikh Sangat of the historic Gurdwara Stockton, built in memory of the Gadhri Babas participated in large numbers in the eleventh Nagar Kirtan in this town. The head granthi of Darbar Sahib, Bhai Jaswinder Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion and the procession was lead by Panj Piaras in the benign presence and patronage of Guru Granth Sahib.  

A large number of the participants in the remarkable Nagar Kirtan were reciting Gurbani, raising the Raj Karega Khalsa watchword and also sloganeering for a separate Sikh state. A see of yellow and blue Dastars and scarves was witnessed wherever the eye could go. All kinds of Langar was there. 

Khalistan Affairs Centre coordinator Dr. Amarjit Singh, John Singh Gill, American Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee coordinator Dr. Pritpal Singh, Gulwinder Singh, Bikramjit Singh, Ranjit Singh Chandowalia, Manjit Singh Uppal, The President of Gurdwara Stockton Amarjit Singh Panesar, Secretary Joginder Singh, Treasurer Balwinder Singh participated in the Nagar Kirtan. The leaders from San Francisco Bay Area included Gurmeet Singh Khalsa, Jaswant Singh Hothi, Sukhdev Singh Beniwal, Jeet Singh Beniwal, Gurbachan Singh Rana, Advocate Shankar Singh, Jasjeet Singh, relatives of martyrs-Jaswinder Kaur Khalsa, Sahib Singh, Sarbjit Kaur. University of California teachers Dr. Gurtej Singh Cheema and Tarlochan Singh were seen alongside the float which depicted the genocide of Sikhs in the eighties of the last century. 

A large number of Gatka teams from different colleges and schools displayed traditional martial arts of the Sikhs.
