IFCAPS organises Cynthia K
Mahmood's lecture

Dedicated to Sikh principles, IFCAPS will be organizing a lecture by
well known Sikhism scholar Cynthia K Mahmood from Anthropology
Department of Nortre Dame University, US in "Minorities in India,
Sikhs' destiny and future post 1984 & 9/11" on November 7, 2009 at
12:30 pm at 1606, Oakton Community College, 1600 E Golf Road, Des
Plaines, Illinios 60016.
IFCAPS Executive
Director Dr Swaranjit Singh said Dr Mahmood was a selfless scholar
who has the interests of the Sikh community in her heart and who
stood up for the Sikhs amid much brouhaha. He said Dr Mahmood never
swerved from her commitment ever since her book Fighting for Faith
and Nation: Dialogues With Sikh Militants became the first such
academic work that raised a fist in favour of the Sikhs.
