IFCAPS organises Cynthia K Mahmood's lecture
WSN Network

CHICAGO: Dedicated to Sikh principles, IFCAPS will be organizing a lecture by well known Sikhism scholar Cynthia K Mahmood from Anthropology Department of Nortre Dame University, US in "Minorities in India, Sikhs' destiny and future post 1984 & 9/11" on November 7, 2009 at 12:30 pm at 1606, Oakton Community College, 1600 E Golf Road, Des Plaines, Illinios 60016.

IFCAPS Executive Director Dr Swaranjit Singh said Dr Mahmood was a selfless scholar who has the interests of the Sikh community in her heart and who stood up for the Sikhs amid much brouhaha. He said Dr Mahmood never swerved from her commitment ever since her book Fighting for Faith and Nation: Dialogues With Sikh Militants became the first such academic work that raised a fist in favour of the Sikhs.
