Sirsa dera driver changes statement
WSN Network

CHANDIGARH: Gobind Singh, a former driver of Dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has moved an application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court withdrawing his earlier statement that the Dera head was behind the conspiracy of murdering former Dera manager Faqir Chand. In his application, Gobind Singh alleged that Khatta Singh, also a former driver of the Dera chief, had pressured him to give a false statement against Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

The CBI on the directions of the High Court is inquiring into the murder of Faqir Chand. The petitioner had sought a CBI probe on the basis of the confession of Gobind Singh. However,Gobind Singh has taken a U-turn and stated in his application that his mental condition was not sound when he had levelled allegations that the Dera head was behind the conspiracy to murder Faqir Chand. The High Court has posted the matter for July 24 and directed the CBI to file the status report.
