Churches Together visits Sikh
gurdwara
WSN Network
BIRMINGHAM:
Members of Lichfield’s ‘Churches Together’ inter-faith group
recently visited
Birmingham’s
Sikh gurdwara, the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha gurdwara, on Soho
Road, as part of an ongoing programme of visits. A dozen members of
‘Churches Together’ were shown around the gurdwara, which resembles
the Golden Temple of Amritsar, in India.
They heard how a Muslim
craftsman wandered into the temple when the glass dome was being
constructed, and offered to help with the work – but refused
payment. The visitors from Lichfield were also treated to a meal,
and were able to ask questions about the Sikh faith.
