Jathedar Vedanti leads scripture
translation venture
WSN Network
FREMONT:
Former Akal Takth jathedar, Giani Joginder Singh, who is currently
on a mission to spread the word about genocide of the Sikhs, came
visiting at the Gurdwara Sahib, Fremont. In his address, he asked
the sangat to stay aware of the sinister designs against the Sikh
community and expressed concern that unfortunately many Sikhs were
fighting among themselves at such a crucial juncture in history.
He said the
Sikhs should look towards the Gurbani for guidance.
Speaking to the
World Sikh News, Jathedar Vedanti said so far there was not any
unanimously acceptable translation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and
therefore he was busy along with a team of experts to prepare such a
translation.
Bhai Jaswinder
Singh Jandi welcomed Jathedar Vedanti and stressed that it was high
time that the Sikhs should join forces among themselves as the quom
has suffered far too much because of disunity.
Bhai Satnam
Singh Khalsa said whatever decisions Jathedar Vedanti took during
his term will be remembered by the community. Making an appeal to
Jathedar Vedanti on behalf of the sangat of California, he said it
was time Vedanti Sahib should work towards true autonomy of Sri Akal
Takht Sahib and help evolve ways for appointment of representative
jathadars of Sikh quom.
