AMRITSAR/LAHORE: The bus and train service between Pakistan and
India resumed on Monday and the Samjhauta Express departed as per
schedule. According to Indian High Commission, the bus service
between India and Pakistan on Delhi-Lahore, Amritsar-Nankana Sahib
and Amritsar-Lahore sectors are being resumed.
“Bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot
would also run as per existing schedule,” the High Commission said
in a press release issued in Islamabad on Monday.
The Thar Express, running between Munabao-Khokrapar, however,
remained suspended on the advice of Pakistan Railways, said the
Indian High Commission.
The Indian High Commission has issued instructions for extension of
visas of Pakistan nationals who were to travel on the
Munabao-Khokrapar service, by a week, if so required.
Pakistan nationals who intended to travel on this service and need
to travel back to Pakistan urgently may approach the concerned
offices at Mumbai, Delhi, Amritsar, Jodhpur and Ahmedabad for
obtaining changes in visas to travel to Delhi for return by any of
the scheduled bus/train services to Lahore, said the Indian High
Commission.
The Indian embassy said alternatively, the interested passengers may
also approach the respective offices for making necessary
endorsements on their visas to enable them to cross over to Pakistan
at the Attari border on-foot.
