Sikh delegation meets Pak PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan premier Yusuf Raza Gilani has assured a Sikh delegation led by Dr Pritpal Singh of AGPC, Manmohan Singh and Joga Singh from UK, Master Jagir Singh of SGPC, Dr Shamsher Singh of Jammu and Sham Singh, Sahib Singh Peshawar and Bishen Singh, formerly of PSGPC, that land has been acquired for Baba Guru Nanak International University and that he himself will be laying the foundation stone soon.

Dr Pritpal Singh impressed upon the PM to preserve the heritage and architecture of the Sikh gurdwaras during any renovation efforts. The PM immediately instructed federal minister Shahbaaz Bhatti and Evacuee Property Board chairperson Asif Hashmi to pay attention to this particular concern of the Sikh community. He also assured that problems related to visas will be solved soon.
