Modi does some jugalbandi with Pakistan, Cong says it’s shrill
WSN Network

In remarks clearly loaded against the minority Muslim community, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi last week said while India was asking Pakistan to act against terror perpetrators, it should also act against those within the country who help these terrorists. As Pakistan establishment pounced upon Modi’s remarks to say that an Indian CM too was saying that the fault does not all lie with Pakistan, Congress blasted Modi for diluting the country’s tough stance.

Modi was quick to say he was talking about local recce men who acted for terrorists, but BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani lost little time in sensing the anti-Muslim potential of the statement and seconded Modi to say that the November 26 Mumbai terror attacks could not have been carried out without help from local elements. Advani’s remarks, which could create fresh controversy, came a day after Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi tried to link Mumbai attacks with the Samjhauta Express blasts.
