donation camp in Punjab
Jagmohan Singh
AMRITSAR: A host
of Sikh organizations, have come together to organize a blood
donation camp at Anandpur Sahib on 10 March, 2009 and they have put
in place gigantic plans to make it the world’s largest blood
donation drive in a single day. Vying to beat the Guiness record of
the Sauda Dera of Sirsa, Harpreet Singh of Akal Purakh ki Fauj, has
said that, “if all Sikh organizations sink their differences and
join hands, we will be able to create a new record and the credit
would go to Guru Khalsa Panth.”
The Holla
Mohalla festival attracts lakhs of pilgrims from all over
Punjab
and the rest of the country. The Hola Mohalla festival is the
festival of truth, courage, bravery and service.
Speaking to WSN,
Harpreet Singh said that, “The minimum target is 25000 units in 24
hours which will be the Largest Blood Donation in one single day
across the world.” Due to humanitarian and philanthropic nature of
the event, it is likely to be extensively covered by the print and
satellite media. A team of Guiness would be monitoring the event for
record purposes as well.
The programme
carries the blessings of Akal Takht Sahib and the organizers have
request all and sundry amongst the Sikhs to come forward. “It is
time to strengthen our Panthic image” said Jaswinder Singh Khalsa
who is the driving force behind the mega event.
