Seona shot dead in Patiala

PATIALA: In a shocking development, Darbara Singh Seona, general secretary of Akali Dal International, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne youth on September 12 while was on his way to Dukhniwaran Sahib Gurdwara here. The youth fired two bullets straight into his chest while one struck his head.

Darbara Singh was attacked some two months earlier too alongwith his two daughters by some persons with knives and swords in Amritsar soon after he had written an article on Guru Granth Sahib for Spokesman newspaper. His wife Jaswinder Kaur is a former  SGPC member from Samana. He at onestage used to be a personal aide of Prem Singh Chandumajra and later was with Akali Dal International president Atinder Pal Singh.
