Make Sikh issues a priority says
Dal Khalsa
WSN Bureau
AMRITSAR: Taking
umbrage at the dissolution of many Sikh issues by the Akali Dal in
Punjab, the Dal Khalsa has asked the ruling party not to forego Sikh
issues and learn political lessons from its ally the Bharatiya
Janata Party, which continues to pursue its Hindu agenda in Punjab
and elsewhere.
Taking a cue
from the BJP's resolution adopted at its national executive meet at
Bangalore
to make the Hindu cause, Hindu symbols and Hindutva as its poll
plank in the coming Lok Sabha elections, the Dal Khalsa asked the
Akali Dal to follow the footsteps of its ally and revert to the Sikh
agenda.
While the Akalis
have dropped the Sikh agenda, the BJP sticks to its Hindutva plank.
This shows the incompetence and weaknesses of the Akalis rather than
their urge to portray themselves as a secular party,' said Dal
Khalsa leader Harcharnjit Singh Dhami while addressing a press
conference here.
Dal Khalsa
sought the regulation of migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh into
Punjab and termed their influx into the state as a demographic
threat that was crippling and polluting Punjab society and culture.
